We are saying goodbye to old-school phone calls for planned power outages. Instead, we are informing you about upcoming planned outages through SmartHub! One of the many features of SmartHub is the ability to send alerts and notifications based on your preferences.
What is changing?
How members are notified about planned power outages.
 
What about unplanned power outages?
We will not use SmartHub alerts and notifications for unplanned power outages at this time. However, we are always committed to better serving our members and are exploring ways to expand our use of SmartHub alerts and notifications.
 
How will you notify me about planned outages?
Current SmartHub Users
- All planned power outage notifications are now sent through SmartHub. Courtesy phone calls are no longer being made. If you need assistance updating your SmartHub notifications, call 1.800.279.2667 and we can assist you.
 Tip: SmartHub users can choose their notification preferences: text, email, SmartHub alert, and voice message (automated calls). With SmartHub, you can customize who receives planned power outage notifications by adding multiple contacts to your account.
Non-SmartHub User
Email on File
- All planned power outage notifications are now sent by email. Courtesy phone calls are no longer being made. To receive alerts by text or automated voice message enroll in SmartHub today.
No Email on File
- Because your MWEC account does not have an email on file, we will do our best to keep you informed about planned power outages. However, please note that courtesy phone calls will end on June 9, 2026. Our team will attempt to contact you using the phone number we have on file to help you sign up for SmartHub notifications.
