At Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative, we exist to support our members and the communities they call home. MWEC offers financial support through donations and sponsorships as well as the newly established Impact Grant (2025). Whether it's supporting grassroots efforts or sponsoring events that improve quality of life – we are honored to be your partner.

Impact Grant
($2,501 - $25,000)

In 2025, the Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative (MWEC) board of directors introduced the Impact Grant Program to provide greater support for new infrastructure and capital enhancement projects within our service area. These funds are designed to improve the quality of life of MWEC members, employees, and communities. To qualify for a grant, the project must fit within one of the grant focus areas identified below.

How funds are distributed:
The MWEC Board of Directors awards grant applications as follows:

     2025
     Awarded October 2025
        All applications received by July 31

     2026
     Cycle 1 - applications received August 1 - October 31, 2025
                    Awarded the following January
     Cycle 2 - applications received November 1, 2025 - April 30, 2026
                    Awarded the following July

Impact Grant Image

Quality of Life – Infrastructure projects that improve the quality of life in Williams and Mountrail counties and foster economic growth. Projects may include, but are not limited to, recreational facilities, arts, health care, community centers, daycares, etc.

Education – Focus on facilities that support local educational efforts. Projects may include, but are not limited to, educational facilities.

Non-profit organizations – Focus on facilities that support safety, civic and community betterment, health and human services, culture, and the arts.

Other - Other projects that positively impact the communities in or surrounding MWEC’s service area may be considered.

One-time events; low-impact; for-profit organizations; No endowments; one-time grant award per project; general funds (salaries, etc.)

($1 - $2,500)

The sponsorship/donation committee reviews requests for funding on a monthly basis.
Event sponsorships should be submitted at least six weeks before the event occurs.

No political campaign, legislation, for-profit organizations.

Through Operation Round Up, an innovative community service fundraising program, MWEC provides a simple and rewarding way for its members to help support worthwhile projects in our service area.
