2025 Youth Tour
June 15-21
ELIGIBILITY:
* You must be a sophomore or junior in high school.
* You and your parents or guardian must be a residential member of Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
*Must be RECEIVED by December 13, 2024
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Winner will represent MWEC as one of 16 North Dakota Electric Cooperative delegates to travel to Washington, D.C.
- Visit historical areas such as (locations subject to change):
- Ford's Theatre
- Gettysberg
- Arlington Cemetary
- The Capital Building
- and more...
Outside of Trip
- Meet and Greet luncheon with MWEC Staff
- Interview for article to be published in the North Dakota Living magazine
- Meet MWEC Board of Directors (as schedules allow)
- Attend and possible speak at MWEC Annual Meeting (as schedules allow)
HOW TO ENTER:
1. Include a cover page with:
Student Information:
- name
- residential address
- date of birth
- school and current grade
- email address
- phone number
Parent/Guardian Information:
- name(s)
- email address(es)
- phone number(s)
2. Complete an essay
Essay Topic:
"Why is it important to be involved in your community, and how does that prepare you to be a future leader?"
Essay Format:
- Not to exceed two standard 8.5x11-inch typewritten, double-spaced pages on this topic:
3. Upload student photo (ex. school picture) for use in connection with the Youth Tour
4. Upload completed Consent and Release Form (parent signature required if under 18 years of age)
