Dispatcher completes technology program
One of Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative’s (MWEC) core values is innovation. With that comes the constant need to stay ahead in technology and our power system. We are able to accomplish that through continuing the education of our staff.
One program all MWEC dispatchers are required to complete is the electrical transmission systems technology program. This is done in partnership with Bismarck State College (BSC) and is designed to teach students about the electrical power system in North America.
BSC’s program is recognized by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation as a continuing education provider. The program covers basic electricity, generation, distribution and transmission, with a strong emphasis on system operations.
The program is a two-year degree and consists of 51 specialized courses and 15 general education credit hours.
Chad Davis, an MWEC dispatcher, recently completed this program, earning his associate of applied science in electrical transmission systems technology.
Congratulations to Chad and thank you for your dedication to keeping the lights on.
