Family Turns Ranch into Dream Wedding Venue

As owner Jimmy Moore describes it, it feels like a sanctuary or a state park. It’s quickly become a sought-after location for weddings, thanks to its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere.
The journey to transforming this land into a wedding venue began unexpectedly. Jimmy and his wife, Bobbi, originally purchased the property to house trucks for their trucking business, JB & Sons. But when their daughter-in-law, Olivia, discovered the property on Facebook, she saw its potential as a wedding venue.
“Her and Bobbi had a vision for something much bigger,” Jimmy says. Soon, the idea of turning the ranch into a wedding venue took root, and the Moores poured their entrepreneurial spirit into making it a reality.
The centerpiece of the venue is a stunning 1943 barn, complete with its original crane system, a nod to the property’s rich history.
“There’s magic everywhere you go,” Jimmy says of the entire property, from the gardens to the pond.
What truly sets Peaceful Prairie Ponderosa apart is its peaceful, secluded atmosphere. Located just 7 miles outside of Stanley, the venue offers privacy with neighbors over a quarter mile away in one direction and 2 miles in the other. It’s the perfect spot for couples seeking a private, natural setting for their big day.
Much of the venue’s charm comes from its previous owners, the Piepkorn family, who lived on the property for over 100 years. Jimmy credits Yvonne Piepkorn, the family matriarch, for shaping the land into the tranquil haven it is today.
“It’s a privilege to carry the torch forward,” he says.
The Peaceful Prairie Ponderosa is now open for bookings, and with dates filling fast, the Moores look forward to hosting even more weddings in 2025 and 2026. For couples seeking a memorable wedding experience, this stunning venue offers the perfect setting for a day they’ll cherish forever.
